Adaverse, Cardano’s startup accelerator in Africa and Asia, has invested in Bitsport, a blockchain gaming platform that offers gamers earning opportunities through AI-powered games.

The size of Adaverse’s investment wasn’t disclosed, while it was part of Bitsport’s pre-seed round, Adaverse said in a statement on May 9.

On the platform, gamers can earn cryptocurrencies and tokens by engaging in gaming tournaments, and other users are also allowed to wager on their favorite gamer and earn crypto rewards upon winning.

“Through the convergence of Web3 technology and gaming, we’re not just creating a new kind of entertainment experience, but are building a community-driven economy that empowers players to truly own and shape the virtual worlds they inhabit. With the support of visionary investors like Adaverse, we’re excited to lead the charge in this next phase of gaming evolution,” said Victor Ogunshina, co-founder of Bitsport.

Bitsport has plans to expand its reach in Africa by opening gaming hubs in Lago of Nigeria, South Africa, and Nairobi before the end of 2023. The company’s focus is to build games that allow anyone with a mobile phone, tablet, or other smart devices to interact and earn cryptocurrency. With the Cardano blockchain, the company will target emerging economies in Africa and Asia, according to the statement.

Vincent Li, founding partner at Adaverse, expressed his enthusiasm for the Play-N-Earn platform, saying that “Bitsport’s AI-powered Web3 gaming platform represents the future of gaming.” “With the full support of the Cardano ecosystem, we are confident Bitsport will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the gaming world, and we look forward to seeing it become a global leader in the Web3 gaming space,” he said.
